Templeogue College C.S.Sp

Principal's Welcome

Céad Míle Fáilte!

I am really pleased that you have decided to find out more about our school and hope that this website gives you a glimpse of the rich and varied opportunities offered in Templeogue College.

At Templeogue College we are committed to providing the highest educational standards for all our students in a nurturing and supportive environment. Our aim is to get to know each and every one of our students as the unique gift that he is and to nurture and inspire him to become the best he can be. Our highly committed and experienced staff enjoy challenging and engaging their students, ensuring the needs of each individual are understood and met. As a staff team, we strive to educate your son as a spiritual, physical, emotional and academic being, so that the young men in our care grow to be confident young adults who make positive contributions to the world around them.

Throughout their time at Templeogue College, we aim to ensure that all young men develop and enhance their sense of moral purpose and social justice. We seek to develop dynamic leaders with a heart of service and a wisdom and vision grounded in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

We enjoy a high level of success across many areas of extra-curricular life at Templeogue College. Whether your son is interested in sport, debate, art, music or chess, our dedicated staff will support him in developing his skills and excelling in his chosen extra-curricular area. We are passionate about the wellbeing of our students and explore positive ways to develop and enhance their mental health through a variety of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Please take some time to look at some of the activities we have been enjoying so far this year and to read about some of the fantastic successes of our school teams.

Staff at Templeogue College greatly value the relationships they develop with the parents and guardians of the students they teach. We recognise the role parents play as first educators of their child and the strength that comes from working together to support and challenge your son in reaching his potential.

We were really proud when an inspector in our school recently shared the following reflections after her visit:

  • The school recognises student wellbeing as central to its operations and proactively sets out to continuously develop a sense of belonging in Templeogue College among its student body from first year onward.
  • The school encourages and facilitates artistic, musical, vocal and identity expression among students.
  • The school promotes qualities of resilience and positive learning dispositions.
  • The school recognises the role of student leadership and gives students a say in matters relating to student wellbeing and, increasingly, in teaching and learning.
  • The school has a clear commitment to a programme of retreats where students reflect on their own values, friendship, community and the development of self.
  • Staff members, and especially the principal, share collegiate responsibility in extending warmth, welcome and a genuine interest in how students are feeling as they meet students in the corridors.
  • The school values the role of the SPHE, wellbeing and digital learning curricular programmes as routes for learning about bullying and self awareness, including learning about the school’s own code of behaviour and anti-bullying strategies.

It is a privilege to be part of this school community and I look forward to welcoming you to Templeogue College and to journeying with you and your son throughout this exciting time in his life.
