Junior Cycle Irish expands on the vocabulary learnt in primary school. At Junior Cycle the learner's vocabulary is strengthened and expanded, and their language skills—speaking, listening, reading, writing, and oral interaction—are further developed. The promotion and development of awareness—both linguistic and cultural—as well as students' self-awareness as language learners are prioritised.
Assessment:
Junior Cycle Irish comprises two Classroom-Based Assessments which will be worth 10% of the student's final grade for Junior Cycle Irish. Classroom-Based Assessments will relate to the students' learning during second and third year.
